PASSION PROJECTS

            It's 2022! A new opportunity (altho every day is an opportunity) for new beginnings (just let me be dramatic for now, haha). I think it's been too long since I wrote (typed/posted) some random thoughts here on my personal account so I want to start the year (altho today is already Jan 2, lol) with something to post about.

            I'm always thinking about passion projects, tried to list down some that I actually accomplished (even partially) based on my very not so reliable memory and came out with this:

* own personal website

            Nope. Not gonna spend a penny for this so I tried making one without my own domain (not sure about the term). Way back in college, inspired by one of the authors I looked up to, I made a blogger account, studied all things I can about it, and started posting some contents and voila, I have my own personal page! (Took me a year (^o^)v) I am sort of proud of this because no one taught me how to do it and yet I managed to. Hugs for u self
Some of my kajejehan and awesome memories (and a LOT of unfinished stories) are there (here!) so if you're up to knowing my very boring self, please don't go there. Lol.

* own collection of books (and more...)

            Not really a passion project (sort of), just one of my dreams. I love books so much and seeing my collection on a daily basis just gives me something to look forward to and strength to do all my mundane (adulting) duties. Maybe the thing that I can consider a passion project is the way I organize these almost 50-ish and more books (add those blackpink albums, other albums, and huge photobooks and soooo many merch) without bookshelves, (Yep, I have a trauma with bookshelves. Don't ask why. I can only say it was pretty traumatic.) only by using some tupperwares and storage boxes with only a limited space around (le sigh). The whole ordeal is always challenging considering we have a small house and the kind of person I am, still buys a LOT of books and albums and photobooks without considering that problem that it always leads to my parents considering ME the root of our problem with space, haha.

* collection of anime figures

            Related to my love for books. I never considered myself a collector of figures because for one, I didn't know a thing about it. Two, I heard one is waaaaay expensive, what more of a collection? Three, I didn't know how and where to buy. I simply didn't know a thing about the whole process of buying and all things anime figures. Then came this old friend (We are of the same age, I just meant high school friend so that was so many years ago. Whatever, I don't know why I think there's a need to point that out, haha) who introduced me to his world. He's a seller of anime figures and I was so amazed. Not because he's awesome but because he's selling some figures of classic animes! I mean I think they are RARE! And at the time I also couldn't believe there was a figure existing in this world with my favorite anime characters! It was surreal! Yep. I became a huge problem to my parents again.

* an explosion box

            I've always wanted to create something like this but thought I couldn't because I'm really not artistic. But then I had a close friend way back and I wanted to give him something special for his birthday. So yes, I tried really hard to create one. I bought some art materials, watched Youtube videos, and tried to mimic all that I learned. I did this for three nights straight (because I have a day job) so yes, I was a zombie then every morning, haha. Can't believe I managed to create one! I'm proud of it! It was not the type of box that was super awesome. Mine was simple, but I guess the way I made it was kind of special. I put a lot of pictures ('coz I love memories so much) so the recipient would always remember our memories together when he looks at it. Too bad though 'coz we are not friends anymore but I will always remember my hardwork!

* a novel

            YES! I finished one! Yay! It was not perfect. There's a lot that needs to be re-written but still, I finished one! It was part of a trilogy though. The story was entitled Memories of You. It has 49 chapters plus a prologue and epilogue. If you are curious to know the story, please don't read it. Just ask me and I'll tell you, haha. Since it is far from perfect, I don't really recommend anyone to read it. My self-confidence lately is on a dumpster and currently trying to find something to put it back together. How can someone be so confident yet still not? Maybe I can lament about this not so awesome self on a new post. Not here because this post only has smiley faces and pink hearts! There's no room here for negativity!

* a bulletin board for memories (and others)

            I've already bought a card board, cut some colored papers to be used as backgrounds, used some stickers and other shimmering things, put some pictures, printed words related to what I want to create, and used pins to put these all together. It was still unfinished though. Thinking how or what I wanted to see inside our house, I tried to do this what I called bulletin of memories. Just by simply looking at it will give you nostalgia. Bittersweet.

I guess that's it! I'm happy and proud of these small accomplishments in my life (because I procrastinate so much!). I'll prepare another list for this year and will show it on my next post.

Haaaay, writing this is so refreshing! =)
